The week we both uttered the words ‘we should have just moved..’ This week was the first of the ‘knock through’s’ and was messy. In spite of sealing up all the gaps the dust still found a way through…. annoyingly it decides to find a way by coming through the ceiling spotlights!

Saturday 18th April
No sign of builders merchants reopening. The one that is open hasn’t delivered any bricks this week. We have around 700 left I think.. and two tonnes of sand. Saturday 11th April
Work resumed this week thanks to a double delivery of sand and cement 🙂 next challenge is getting more bricks but for now we have enough materials for 2-3 days next week.
Wednesday 25th March
Lockdown on Monday – thankfully construction is allowed to continue. Suppliers shutdown though, so we find ourselves without bricks,sand and cement until Monday. The guys tidied up at the end of today having achieved quite a lot in 3 days…
Saturday 21st March
What a week that was… global emergency due to Covid-19. We do not know yet if this will stop work at some point. For now, our guys continue…

Foundations filled. Manholes moved. Kamil is working on a Saturday to fill in the excavated ground he had to dig to fit the new pipework. next week we lose the kitchen extension and start building the floor and walls.
