Monday May 4th

Not much happened last week due to bad weather but this week the team will be putting in the steels to hold up the rear of the house and allow for the joists to be installed. This means losing the dining room, part of Frasers room and yet more of the kitchen – including the sink. The estimate is for two weeks…

Dining room empty
Living room 😦
Cosy bedroom!

Saturday 18th April

No sign of builders merchants reopening. The one that is open hasn’t delivered any bricks this week. We have around 700 left I think.. and two tonnes of sand. I’m hopeful we will keep going next week although Lukasz (our builder) told us he expects to shut down next week without more supplies.

That aside, the scaffolding went up on Tuesday and Daniel and Wisak started building the garage and pillar for the steel at the front of the house.

Saturday 21st March

What a week that was… global emergency due to Covid-19. We do not know yet if this will stop work at some point. For now, our guys continue…

The first column of floor goes in 🙂
And in just a few days we have a solid concrete floor.
Which means we start the walls now!
It’s amazing how quickly the guys are doing this. They are working really hard.
Excited to see what the next week brings!

Friday 13th March

Well, the team certainly work fast! Some major progress this week, I really should have done a midweek post but my day job has been too busy. Here we go…

Floor beams arrive
The kitchen empty and ready to be made a lot smaller. The kitchen has an existing extension to the rear which is about to be removed.
Brickwork up to DPC level nearly done
Our new mini kitchen. Who needs a big one? It’s all to hand now.
Floor next!
